WCCC Building

The Wayne County Career Center (WCCC) has been established to provide a vetted and qualified workforce to meet the need of the regions employers to onboard productive entry-level employees in the industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, and logistics sectors.

The WCCC will provide 30- 60- or 90-day basic work/life skill programs that include background and drug testing, basic safety and compliance training, OSHA certified Hilo operator training, manual and electric pallet jack operation training, and the proper procedures to safely utilize all types of hand tools. Attendees will receive basic material handling and assembly skills as well as warehouse picking, packing, loading, unloading and fulfillment services for goods and products.

The Wayne County Career Center developers will meet with the appropriate corporate personnel of the employers in the region who become sponsors of the program to provide any customization of the core curriculum to satisfy the unique on-boarding requirements that employer may have.

The WCCC will provide all administrative and payroll services for the entry level candidate during their 60-day probationary period. Once a candidate is onboarded and becomes a permanent hire the employer will reimburse the Wayne County Career Center at a predetermined rate.

Working in a collaborative effort with the region's employers, the WCCC will reduce the excessive cost of employee turnover and provide entry level employees who will understand the work environment they are entering, along with the skillset to become productive team members.
